I was tasked with redesigning the product reviews by creating 2 mobile designs: one deemed safe, and another deemed risky.
Wireframes Explorations
I wanted to target 2 specific users: Gen Z females and their parents. Both experiences function in a way that is intuitive to either targeted user. To test this, I would use visual user behaviour data (e.g. Full Story) to see where users click, how far they scroll, where their mouse moves, and generate A/B tests.
Refining the Vision
Further accessibility considerations included ensuring all images have alt-text for compatibility with assistive technologies; the content is presented clearly and simply without loss of information; strategic use of colour to help users navigate, find content, and determine where they are.
Playing it Safe
Based on user considerations, Gen Z parents are likely to rely on other customer reviews (particularly Google Reviews and Instagram); the safe design is inspired by such platforms.
Risky Business
Based on user considerations, Gen Z users are heavily influenced by social media (particularly Tik Tok); the risky design is inspired by such experiences.
